What we buy

  • Mixed lots: the shoebox of odds and ends nobody ever sorted
  • Damaged and dented hollowware, single spoons, bent trays
  • Unmarked silver: older Canadian, European and Mexican silver often carries no marks at all
  • Jewellery scrap: tangled chains, single earrings, broken clasps

You don't need to sort anything

This is the category where people most often assume “it's probably nothing” and are most often wrong. Don't sort, don't polish (patina doesn't matter, and polishing can hurt collectible pieces), and don't throw anything out. Photograph the lot together, send the form, and let the testing do the work. We separate silver from plate, itemize what's what, and pay on the real silver content.

Honest means honest both ways. If your box turns out to be mostly plate, we'll tell you that for free, and you'll have lost nothing but a few photos.

Common questions

Should I clean or polish anything first?

No. We price on metal content, and on older collectible pieces polishing can actually reduce value. Send it as it is.

What if only some of it is real silver?

That's normal. We itemize the lot, show you what tested as sterling versus plate, and pay on the genuine silver.
